Grants.gov Urgent Communication A problem has been discovered in the Grants.gov system that will result in proposals with incorrect budgets being submitted to Grants.gov and NIH. The problem occurs when there is an excess of 8 named individuals on the budget page and when some of those names are removed. If names are entered and then removed, those names will not show up on the Cayuse screen but will still be part of the PDF and the information sent to NIH; thus causing the budget to be overstated and incorrect. This problem will be fixed in the next release of Cayuse but that will not happen prior to the February 5th deadline. Cayuse has developed a workaround. So please read the following very carefully and if this occurs on your proposal please follow the steps outlined in the following information from Cayuse. [more...] System Downtime Sunday, 1/28/07 for Grants.gov Cayuse Upgrade As the 2/5 NIH deadline approaches, the submission volume at grants.gov has grown dramatically. Because the grants.gov servers do not always respond within the specified time, the proposal submissions appear to fail. Although this issue does not originate with Grants.gov Cayuse, a quick patch will ensure that the UCSF proposal submission using Grants.gov Cayuse are not impacted. The Grants.gov Cayuse system will be brought down for approximately 20 minutes between 8 - 11 a.m. on Sunday, 1/28/07 to apply a patch. To prevent the loss of data, it is strongly suggested that no users be logged on at the time this operation is performed. Please contact Jeff Colley with questions.
