LARC veterinarians are available to help with animal care issues in preparing this application.

During planning stages of study:

  • USDA Categories: B and C: Veterinarian Consultation is encouraged
  • USDA Categories: D and E: Veterinarian Consultation is Required

If you are uncertain of which USDA category is applicable to your study, please contact the LARC Veterinarians at 502-8687

For Category D and E Animals: Please call 502-8687 if you have any specific veterinary concerns (e.g., the proper doses of anesthetics and analgesics to be used) that can be worked out before submitting your application for pre-review. Otherwise, you can submit the completed protocol to preview by e-mail directly to preview@larc.ucsf.edu. If necessary, one of the veterinarians will contact you for a consultation.
