Dear UCSF Research Community Colleagues:

As I mentioned yesterday, please find some additional information for employees returning to work on campus: Campus Access and Protocols. Guidance about face coverings, workspace cleaning, and other topics are found at the link. Please note that there may be differences in guidelines at UCSF affiliate sites.

You are kindly requested to bring your personal cloth face covering to campus to decrease the demand on our limited supply. An email was sent to all employees yesterday about increased shuttle service and discounted daily parking. You will receive a separate message with details about the required daily employee health screening.

As a reminder, directives and safety information about specific research activities may be found in documents at the following links:

I also want to emphasize the gradual nature of the process for returning to work on campus. Many research units will not feel ready to return on Monday. All of you should take your time and not rush to return before your research unit is ready to do so. It is important to increase your onsite research activities only when you are adequately prepared. Some of you will understandably be ready before others and those different timelines are perfectly acceptable.

I remind you to tune into the next Research Operations Town Hall on May 20, 4 – 5 p.m. via Zoom (Pin: 473859). Additional details regarding panelists are soon to follow.

With my sincere appreciation for your continued dedicated efforts,

Lindsey A. Criswell, MD, MPH, DSc
Vice Chancellor of Research
Professor of Medicine and Orofacial Sciences
