Business Development, Innovation and Partnerships

The goal of the Office of Business Development, Innovation and Partnerships is to facilitate translation of UCSF research and innovations for societal benefit. We're proud to be part of an organization that helps pave new paths for researchers to take discoveries from their labs or clinics to the commercial marketplace.   We collaborate with all members of the UCSF community and with industry, catalyzing connections, relationships and the transfer of technology.

We partner with industry on research and clinical programs. We support and market UCSF inventions to the commercial world. We nurture our research community in exploring the entrepreneurial potential of their discoveries by providing education and resources. We serve as a knowledgeable network and a bridge to the commercial world.

Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI)

The Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI) facilitates clinical and translational research to improve patient and community health. We do this by providing infrastructure, services and training to enable research to be conducted more efficiently, effectively and in new ways.

To advance our mission, we develop broad coalitions and partnerships at the local, regional and national levels to enable a transformation of the research environment.

Contracts and Grants Accounting (CGA)

Contracts and Grants Accounting supports UCSF research and education by providing collaborative and advisory post-award management and financial oversight of sponsored research.

We work collaboratively with Principal Investigators, research administrators, the Office of Sponsored Research, other University units, and sponsors from award setup to close out; managing billing, collections, and financial reporting as well as monitoring post award compliance.

Office of Ethics and Compliance

The Office of Ethics and Compliance collaborates with the UCSF community and senior leadership to coordinate and guide compliance efforts across the campus.

Our mission is to ensure institutional compliance with applicable laws and regulations; to promote ethical behavior and research integrity; to provide the tools, guidance, and oversight needed to adhere to all necessary regulatory requirements; and to provide UCSF expertise and support to achieve its mission of advancing health worldwide™.

Our office promotes compliance by providing the leadership and guidance required to maintain the highest regulatory compliance and ethical standards in research.
