Protecting the UCSF Research Community

September 22, 2020

Dear Members of the UCSF Research Community:

As UCSF expands its onsite capacity and invites more researchers to return to the lab, we are writing to ensure that the entire research community is aware of the measures that UCSF has implemented to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 among faculty, staff, trainees, and others who are working on campus.

Please read this summary of health and safety measures taken to date written by the Office of Research and Occupational Health Services. Though these efforts have proven tremendously effective at curbing COVID-19 transmission on campus, we will continue to search for ways to better manage the challenges the pandemic poses to the research community.

For more information about the expansion of onsite research activity, workplace safety, our policies and decision-making process, and UCSF’s prevention and testing strategy, please also read “Phase 3: Expansion of Onsite UCSF Research Activities” sent on September 11 and watch the recording of the September 16 Research Resilience Town Hall.

Through it all, we remain committed to helping the research community pursue trailblazing science and doing so in an environment where your safety is our top priority.

Sincerely,
