The Office of Research is the chief administrative unit and catalyst for advancing research at UCSF.
Office of Sponsored Research (OSR)
The mission of the OSR is to promote, support, strengthen and grow the research, clinical and education enterprise of UCSF.
Research Development Office (RDO)
Promotes, supports, strengthens, and grows the research enterprise.Seeks to attract extramural research funding, increase institutional competitiveness, create research relationships, and foster innovation.
Laboratory Animal Resource Center (LARC)
Research Resource Program (RRP)
Provides strategic planning and implementation of programs to support core facilities and other research resources. Also provides administrative, operational and financial management tools and support to core facilities.
Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S)
Provides guidance and services that promote health, safety, and environmental stewardship.

The mission of the Office of Research is to promote research and improve health by providing high-quality service to investigators; fostering new research initiatives; and promoting translational discoveries into public benefit.

The Office of Research provides leadership, direction, and management of campuswide research administration, infrastructure and services and oversees the operations of the following units: Research Infrastructure and Operations; Office of Sponsored Research; Industry Contracts Division; Research Development Office; Research Resource Program; Laboratory Animal Resource Center; Environment, Health and Safety, and the Office of Clinical Research.
